10-21 - The Receipt is in the "Beg" - Elder KC Roose

This is an email I got from Cade's really good friend, KC, who is in St. Cloud, MN.  Love this boy!  He is hilarious!   You can see why he got along so well with Cade.

Hey Everyone. Its Is getting pretty cold here in the great state of Minnesota or should I say Minnesoooda. That's how everyone here says it anyway. They also say Beg for bag. It's so much fun to go the grocery store and when they ask, "Would you like the receipt in the beg?" to say it back to them, "Yes in the beg would be fine." It's hard to do it with a straight face though! My companion almost blew it today. Missions are great! I am learning so much. I forgot to tell everyone a couple things that happened last week. Elder Johnson and I were riding our bikes home one night last week and I accidently hit a dead squirrel on the side walk! It was so nasty. It made a squeaky toy noise though. We couldn't stop laughing. They are seriously everywhere here mostly alive though. It's so crazy. This week when I was on exchanges with the assistants to my president we went and taught a man named brother Magdoll. He is a member but fell away a while ago because his parents did. He is now in his 30's and goes to a grace church. During the lesson he told us that the reason he doesn't read the Book of Mormon anymore is because that he doesn't understand it. He reads the new version of the Bible. During the lesson 1st Nephi 3:7 came to my head. I opened to it and read it. I explained that feasting upon the words of god is a commandment and that if he prayed before he started to read that God would help him understand the scriptures. It ended up being his favorite scripture when he did read the B.O.M. Why did the particular scripture come into my mind? I could have shared tons of others with him. I learned that if we always have a prayer in our heart that the spirit will help us know what to say. It really helped him a lot. It was a cool experience.
At Sacrament meeting yesterday the clock died and the speaker had no clue! It was so funny. He kept looking at it like, " This is the longest 15 minutes of my life!" the Bishop finally told him and everybody started laughing. I swear he was the only one that didn't figure it out. He had an Ipad too. Good times! This week has been great! I'm doing great and hope everyone is doing great as well. I love you all.

This is a picture that KC sent, as well.  Probably of St. Cloud, Minnesoooodda!  :)

10-21 - Night of the Moldy Roll - HA HA

Hey everybody!!!

Jeremiah 4:19-20 this described to the T this week! it was a very good week! we had zone conference! and then elder fis'ihoi came with us for a day! he leaves this week! he is a big polynesian i love him so much! he was a traveling trainer! i have a feeling i might get put into leadership next transfer because that is the second traveling trainer that has been with me!! and they look at people and see if they will be good for leadership! so one night we were cleaning out the cupboards and we found some moldy rolls and it was like 1000 degrees at night and on our balcony it overlooks a bike path and me and elder fisi'ihoi saw that there were two kids out there and i drilled one of them right in the head with a moldy roll! hahahaha it was sooo funny!  Keep my investigators in your prayers please, they really need the help! the zone conference went really well! i enjoyed it a lot! other than that it was a pretty normal week! haha mom i need new shoes , my ones i have right now are like falling apart! if you go to mission shoe they have really good solid church shoes for missionaries! just type it into google and check it out! i heard they are really good shoes! More of part of our conversation:

Hey son!  Did you get our packages?  Also...don't waste time bible bashing people, you ding-a-ling.  Just bear your testimony and walk on.  Another thing...being the Lord's servant, you shouldn't be drilling the kids in the head with moldy rolls.  HA HA  That is funny, though (from your father).  Your Dad needs to know what your favorite scripture is so we can put it on your plaque.  AND......send us a picture without you doing the hang loose sign so we can put it on your plaque.  have your companion take a picture of you so we can put it on the plaque.  that would be awesome to be in a leadership spot.  You would do great!  Also, what size shoe do you wear?  10 or 11?

10-14-13 The Great Call of Diligence - Cade's friend Matt

Okay.....so on Monday, I received an email from Cade's friend, Matt Hepworth.  I really liked one of his thoughts, so I thought I'd share.  It really made me realize that I need to do better.  :)  I also included a picture of him, too.  Ha Ha

Okay, on to the title of my email. This week has been great, I feel like the spirit I've gotten from conference has really helped me learn more in everything I've done this week.  I found two awesome verses in Alma this week that I love. I think I'll write a book with that title some day lol.   I also will be using some ideas from conference in here,  so these are not all my ideas :) little background info on these verses.  Its in Alma 28, and at this point in the Book of Mormon the biggest battle that's ever happened in the history of the Nephites and Laminites has just taken place. "Tens of Thousands" from each side were killed in the carnage. and it talks about how many people are morning for fear of the souls of those who were killed, and how many others truly mourn, for the loss of their families  but they rejoice because of their knowledge of Christ. so starting in vs 13 it says "

13 And thus we see how great the inequality of man is because of sin and transgression, and the power of the devil, which comes by the cunning plans which he hath devised to ensnare the hearts of men                     14 And thus we see the great call of diligence of men to labor in the vineyards of the Lord; and thus we see the great reason of sorrow, and also of rejoicing—sorrow because of death and destruction among men, and joy because of the light of Christ unto life.
Who knew that the Book of Mormon provides us with such an awesome slogan!?    Sin is anything that turns us away from god. It can be a good thing we're doing, but if it puts God on the back burner, then it is a sin. Why would a God (knowing  that he is the only God) say "Thou shalt have no other Gods before me"?  is he saying "okay, worship me first, then you can worship your other gods"? no, he talks about not serving any other masters. If you believe in multiple gods, then it is quite literal for you, but God knows there isn't other gods, he's telling us to put him first. THEN we will see the blessing's he's promised to all of us.  And thus we see the great call of diligence of all mankind, to LABOR. .......gosh, just typing that word makes me tired!   As we learned in conference, reading our scriptures, and praying everyday is not enough. Satan works 24/7 on us, so how hard do we need to work on us?........ 24/7 ....... we are not strong enough  too withstand Satan's temptations just coasting through life. We have to be DILIGENT!  Going back to the thought that Sin is when ever we turn away from god. that's what Verse 13 is taking about. His "cunning plans" are what ever takes priority in our lives before god, that is how he will "ensnare our hearts"    Seriously people, we don't give Satan enough credit,  he's good, soooo good. Believe me, I'm out here on the front lines, and the battle is real. But that's no reason to get discouraged, because I'm on the winning side.  Christ will win no matter what, and we can win our own personal battles with Diligence,  by LABORING!

Pictures that Cade sent before he left Visalia

 Elder Gayan

 Cade's Zone Leader
I'm pretty sure this is on their way to the Vineyard.

Cade cut his knee because he was scared of a spider.  HA HA HA

I'm pretty sure this is a picture of the sun during the fires there in California.

This is the bruise on Cade's leg when he was trying to be funny and hit Elder Gayan's bike with his front tire.  He flipped over the bike and hurt himself pretty good.  Crazy Cade!!  HA HA
I think this may be the Fresno Temple.

This is the family that Cade baptized that moved from Modesto.

couldn't resist this picture....Cade poopin' on a pink toilet!  HA HA

This is Sister Jones.  Her and her husband really take care of the missionaries in their area.
 Awww.....Cade misses Daisy.  HA HA

The Bishop from Visalia 2nd Ward.
