Jan 27, 2014 L-berg, the Fatted Calf - Transfers - CAR!!!

So the big news is, is that i am getting transferred on wednesday!!!!!!! it is definitely bitter sweet! i have grown to love this ward soo much! all the people i have baptized and just the members!!! they will be missed! i am being transferred to sanger, which is like south east of fresno! i have been told that it is a little country town! My new companions name is elder anderson! i heard he is a cowboy from texas! i guess he rides bulls! so thats pretty cool! i am staying district leader down there! i will miss my companions i have now! especially elder bean! i dont think i will ever have a companion like him again! we just clicked from the beginning! but elder bean is taking my place as a district leader, its cool because all of his companionships are visa waiters to brazil! so he can have his district meetings in portuguese!

so here is how my week went down!  we have been biking our little booties off! we have biked to the very southern part of our area like 5 times this last week! because we have potentials down there haha! so we are on the very north part of our area and so it was a  long couple of days! as you probably know, that my birthday was on saturday! i am 19 , i cant believe it!

L-Berg - The Fatted Calf - HA HA HA HA HA

So on saturday elder bean and elder mcewan got me like a fat little cow, now the story behind that is when i was being trained elder gayan said that i was the fatted calf of the mission, and i guess that has been with me for forever! haha so they got me this fat cow and told me it was the fatted calf! haha we called it L-berg! haha so it was funny! i celebrated my birthday with matthew! i love him soo much! haha matthew made me a cake right out of the penitentiary! he told me that is what they make in jail! so it was a honeybun, with melted peanut butter on it with a broken up and melted candy bar on it and some bananas on top! it was super good! other than that i really didnt do a lot for my birthda!

on sunday, it was my last sunday in the modesto 2nd ward! and it was fast and testimony for them! so i got up and bore a powerful testimony! i made a lot of people cry! i almost cried a little bit haha! i sat down and i saw all these people wiping there eyes! and right after me this 11 year old boy gets up and says, wll now i know that elder lundberg is leaving, i will miss him, he is one of my favorite missionaries! that was sister howells son!

other than that on the bright side, i will have a car in my new area! haha i just want to leave you with a couple versuses that pertain to us now! it is D and C 138:55-56 it is powerful! i love you !

Jan 20, 2014 - A Little Drip Doesn't Matter!

Another baptism in the books!! that puts me at 16! We baptized a guy named David! it was a super powerful baptism! his wife is a member, and we have been teaching him for about a month! He was super prepared! it was pretty cool on how we found him! so when i got doubled into this are  with elder brantlety, the relief society president gave me a name to go check out for her. and that name was patricia hudgens ( davids wife) So we went and checked it out and she answered the door, she said she had a high risk pregnancy, and i didnt think anything of it!

So in ward council i reported on what i found, and the high priest assigned a hometeacher for her. And of course it was brother larson! the best member missionary i know! so like a month later elder bean and i visited the larsens and told them to fast and pray about who they knew, that would accept the missionaries to teach! so we set a return date, well a couples weeks past and it was the day we were going to follow up! and the larsens didnt have anybody for us to go teach, when all of a sudden brother larsen had an idead to go visit some of his hometeaching families, and when he got to the hudgens home he had the thought to invite them over to our home and have dinner with the missionaries, and after dinner we shared about the book of mormon and we asked them if wecould start teaching him! and he said sure! it is crazy to just see how the lord works! The cool thing about it is that david asked me to baptize him and after the baptism, which shawn and monica attended, shawn and monica came up to me and said i want you to baptize me no matter what!!! so that made feel good!  so that was kind of the spiritual side of this week!!!!

on the other hand DENVER IS GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!! haha my whole ward knows i like denver so like during the game members were texting our phone telling me the score, it was soo funny! when i found out they won i was jumping around my apartment like crazy!!! The only dang time i am not allowed to watch football is when my broncos go to the superbowl dang it!!!!! i am a diehard denver fan and i cant even watch! It is funny because since i am on my mission the lord is blessing my team because i am serving him! so thats why denver is winning!  SO ALL YOU DENVER FANS OUT THERE JUST SAY YOUR WELCOME TO ME!!!  haha
One crazy thing thats not in utah, is every grocery store i walk into has alcohol inside on the shelves! it is crazy there are so many different kinds! ooo One more thing mom record the superbowl so i can watch it when i get home.
I LOVE THIS ANALOGY -  (Kayla)
There was a talk given in sacrament that was super powerful, so this guy took out his dishwasher and he turned the valve to the water off as much as he could, but he said that there was still like a little drip like every 10 or 20 seconds, so he thought to himself that doesnt matter i will just put a bowl under it, then in the morning when i get up to install the dishwasher i will dump the water out and it will be fine! so the next morning he woke up and he said there was water everywhere!! it was over flowing the bucket he had! and he related that to satan. if you let satan drip into your lives through tv or the internet or swearing or whatever, when you wake up you will realize that you have a mess you are going to have to fix! it is crazy how a little 20 second drip could do that! that is how satan works, a little drip at a time!
i love you all! thanks for your prayers, they are helping me in my missionary work!

I ALSO HAVE TO SHARE KC's Email this week, too!  These Young Men are having such great experiences....it is amazing!

Hey Everyone! This week has been a pretty good week. I don't have anymore fish tank stories unfortunately but yesterday was probably the most spiritual day of my mission. Yesterday one of our investigators, Chris, got the day off of work to come to church with us. We were so happy! Oh I do have one kind of funny story. While we were in sunday school chris got a  call from his girlfriend and he said, " I have to take this." He answered his phone and had a conversation while the rest of us just sat and listened. It was pretty awkward. After Church we went over to chris' house to teach him and during our lesson his roommate, Bobby, came out of his room said, " I have a question, How did God create us?" This is a man that is highly into drugs and never has been interested in talking to us. He is always in another room. Yesterday he opened up and we taught him about the Book of Mormon and he was so interested! He is now reading it and praying about it. Chris has been praying for his friend for a long time. He prayed that his friend would have guidance in his life. After Chris thanked us and we said, It wasn't us, you are now a personal witness of how prayers are answered and how god loves all of his children. We asked him to give us the closing prayer and he showed a lot of gratitude. It was so awesome. Later that night we went to visit a less active member. Brother Gordon. His wife has never talked to us much. She has never been interested but last night she completely changed. We taught her about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon and she is reading and praying with Brother Gordon now. She accepted the invite to be baptized. She is such an awesome lady! I am so thankful for spirit. Our lesson with the Gordon family was the most spiritual lesson I have had on my mission so far. She recognized these feelings. She told us that she had only felt this way once before. She said it was when I was in Salt Lake City and my husband took me to see the Joseph Smith movie. She taught herself that she was feeling truth. I loved that lesson. I would pay money to be in that lesson again!
I love you all! I hope you have a great week! Thank you for your prayers!

Jan 13, 2014 - The God Squad

This week we had a lot of driving hours, so we went to the temple on tuesday and the very next day we went back down to fresno for a trainer traineee meeting! the meeting was super good we wetched some clips that were just amazing! president got them off of youtube and ong just type in elder busche and the clip should pop up! and the next on is called true move- giving! both are powerful videos!! and i forgot to include something in my letter from last week, so 2 fridays ago i had the opportunity to interview a special operations sniper for baptism!!!!!!! it was pretty dang sweet! haha so we had a couple of powerful lessons with aaron and shawn and shanws girlfriend! our gangstas!!!!!! we set a date for march 1 with shawn and monica! on thursday we brought matthew over to help us teach them, bec ause he has been in the same position as them!!! he bore a powerful testimony on how this gospel can bless them! matthew is a living witness of how this gospel can totally turn a life 360 for the better!

In this area, is where i have come to love everybody that i have taught and are teaching! i love matthew so much! he is just amazing to see where he came from to where he is now!  but it is a little scary teaching our gangsters! i got aproached in church on sunday which was super nice of brother slade to do! he came up to me and said that their were some people in our ward afraid for our safety because shawn and aaron are in the witness protection program and he told me that there has been drive bys of gangs looking for shawn and aaron! so he told me to be aware of what members we take and what not! haha i am staright up in a gang war zone! haha its okay because i got the most powerful being ever on my side thats god! we are the GOD SQUAD! that is what the gangsters call us! or the G squad because we are teaching them! so i named my district that! haha THE GOD SQUAD!!!!!!  but we met with matthew last night and he is super intellectual in the gospel! you eould be amazed! he knows the scriptures better than most members! he said to me that "god is not a DJ, he doesnt make requests!" he is soo funny haha! thats it for this week!

i know that this gospel is meant for everyone! and it is the only way to live with our heavenly father again< if we arent baptized with proper authority, there is absolutely no way possibel for us to live with god, let alone with our families after this life!!! One thing i have realized on my mission is how powerful the atonement is, if we use it every single day! and if you dont use it everyday and repent ever day, it isa kind of liking you are brushing jesus christ under the carpet, because he suffered for all of our pains sicknesses and sorrows and sins for a reason! its our job just to use it because it is there waiting for us! so the challenge i send out today is if you dont repent every single day, i am calling you to repentance!  YOU NEED TO REPENT EVERY SINGLE DAY!  the feeling you feel when you repent is undescribable! and if you arent baptized i challenge you to take the lessons because if you truly want to be happy for all eternity after this life then you must be baptized by proper authority and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the ONLY  church that has the authority to do so!!!

Our life on earth is only a particle in comparison to all eternity after we die! and depending how we live our lives here on earth and what choices we make, depends on how we will live our lives for all eternity after we die from this earth! i love this gospel!

1-06-13 Gangsta Teacha Baptiza

So this last week was pretty fun! we had a district leader trainer sleep over for our zone new years eve! haha and then we went to our leadership training that following week! it was good i got some revelation for my district and for my trainee! ione thing i learned is our mission out baptizes california 2 to 1 and we ended the year with like 870 something baptisms! which is pretty stinkin good haha! we definitely had a miracle on saturday , so right now we are in an investigator slump and i have been praying my behind off for some darn investigators. so we had an appointment fall through and i had a thought to go see this member named brother correia because we havent seen him in awhile. so we go over there and his sons were there like in there 30s and they came out and started talking to us! so turns out they just got out of jail and they really want to change their life around. and i am telling you they are straight gangsters. they are just massively buff individuals! they were in jail for 3 years and they told me some of their crazy stories! haha but anyways we started teaching them about the book of mormon! and at the end of this meeting i pointed out that it wasnt a coincidence that we stopped to there house! and the spirit flooded the room!!! the dad pointed out that he had goosebumps! haha it was powerful we are going back tonight to teach the rest of the restoration! the funny thing is, is that they know matthew haha! but anyways other than that this week we are going to the temple tomorrow and then we have another meeting to go to in fresno, its called the trainer/trainee meeting! so its going to be busy! 1 more thing you can just call me the gangsta teacha baptiza! haha

I also had to share KC's email this week.  I really felt the spirit of it.  I think ya'll love it, too.

This week has been so crazy! I have learned so much. Nothing too crazy or funny happened this week sadly. Miracles have been happening though. It is so cool to see that God knows exactly where you need to be to help someone at that exact time. A few days ago we had a full day of lessons planned out and only one ended up happening. Doesn't sound like too much of a miracle right? Well I learned something. During all those set lessons falling through we were able to find 5 other people and teach them about the Restoration. I learned that if your appointment falls through look around a little bit because there is a reason that God wanted you to be there at that exact time. I have a really cool example of this. We were headed over to the Bryants house. They're a family from Chicago. Well, we got there and they were busy and told us to come back another day. As we were walking away I said, " I wish people would come to us sometimes!" Elder Wilcoxson and I both looked to our right and we see a lady coming around the corner. I then said, " Well look at this, there she is." We went and talked to her. She was a spanish lady and she wanted a Spanish Book of Mormon which we had for that exact reason. The Spanish Elders are now going to go and teach her more. That was just one of the cool experiences that taught me that if your appointment falls through look around a little bit because there is someone waiting for you. This week has been full of awesome experiences and this next one is definitely the best one so keep reading:) This week I met a guy named Arnie. This man has had a crazy rough life. Lets just say that he looks tougher than the back wall of a shooting range. He is on house arrest. He has been through it all. Before I got to the city of Owatonna, Elder Wilcoxson had been working with this man for a while and he wasn't progressing at all. He wasn't willing to change. The first time I met Arnie he looked at me for a lilttle bit and said, " I like you. " I was pretty scared because I had no clue what he was going to say! He's a fighter. Ever since he has told us several times that he is so glad that I'm here. He told me that he sees something about me and he doesn't know what it is. We of course explained that it was the spirit. This man is now reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. Elder Wilcoxson and I are still so shocked that for some reason he just loves me! The spirit is changing him. Today we went over to his house and after I prayed I asked him, " Arnie where do you want to be or what do you want for yourself in one year?" He started to cry and then of course I did. It's a Roose thing. He said, " I just really want to see my mom. I haven't seen her in a long time." If only you all could see this man. You wouldn't expect him to say that. The spirit was so strong. I know that I was sent all the way from Magna, Utah for this man and many others. I feel like I have known him forever. I'm pretty sure I knew him before this life. It is so cool to finally meet someone that was waiting for me. I hope I can be an instrument in Gods hands and help this man. I love you all. Pray for missionary experiences and then have the faith to open your mouths and tell these people how this Gospel can bless their lives. Have a great week.
