3-05-14 - "HEY, GOOD LOOKING" - Voice Recording Cade sent home

So, Cade has been sending home some voice recordings, which have a TON more things on it of what his days are like.  So, I thought I would type some of them up and include them, here.  :)

Today is March 5th, 2014.  Sorry I didn't record Monday or Tuesday.  I was really busy.  Monday, we had P-day.  Elder Gayan and I and Elder Gipeau and Elder Moss played Lord of the Rings Risk.  Elder Gayan and I were the Orcs and Elder Moss and Elder Gipeau were the elves.  if that is what you wanta call them.  It is a pretty fun game!  Elder Gayan and I won, of course, 'cuz we are the BEST.  After that, we went to Brother Stokes house for dinner at 6.  They are a new family that just moved into Sanger just like a couple of weeks ago.  

After that, we went and visited Katherine.  Haven't been able to get into her house, yet.  Dang it!  They have about 5 people who are baptismal age in that home, but we haven't been able to go see any of them yet, except Chloe, her little 10 year old daughter.  So, we brought all Book of Mormons for them so that should be good.  

Tuesday, I went on exchanges with Elder Gipeau in the Fresno 7th West area and I'll tell ya what, it was the most humbling area, it was ghetto as ghetto.  Sprayed some dogs with ammonia.  It was pretty funny.  They were dragging their faces in the ground.  I hate dogs.  Dogs are stupid.

There are a lot of dogs that tried to chase us.  I just squirted them.  They didn't like that at all.  Elder Gipeau was laughing his head off.  But, we biked forever.  I haven't biked like that since Visalia.  But, it was good for me.   It was like 80 degrees out on Tuesday, sweatin' like a mad man.

Then, we went and saw a couple of formers and potentials for him.  We ran into a kid who played football.  He was a quarterback, so we related the Gospel to that.  I asked him, you know how are goal is to be in the end zone as much times as possible?  He said, Yeah.  I said, Well, right now, we are on like the 50 yard line, and our goal is to get the end zone of life.  Our end zone in life is like Heavenly Father.  Living with HF again.  There are certain plays and moves you have to make to get into the end zone to live into Heavenly Father again.  I told him the first was Baptism - explained what it was.  Then, we invited him to be baptized on march 29th, and he said YES!  So, they ahve a return appointment tomorrow, on Thursday.  It was pretty cool.  I related to him very well 'cuz I love Football.  I miss it alot.  But, that is okay.  

Then, after that, we went and visited more potentials, biked home.  Took us like 35-40 mins to bike home.  It took us forever.  Then, we waited for our ride for dinner, and while we were waiting, we saw this like red SUV thing drive by, and it looked like there was a stinkin' alien in the back seat of it.  It had no hair, it's head was oblong, and it had like no ears.  I swear it was an alien.  It was the funniest looking thing ever in the world.  It was probably some person that had been burnt or something.  It was just weird.  Elder Giapeau was frreaking out.  It was so funny.

After that, we went with the Stake patriarch with the Spanish ward, it was pretty cool I got to pick his mind of how he receives revelation for his blessings.  Just like how we receive revelations how it comes through ideas.  Like sometimes, he'll have Faith come into his head, and he'll expound on it, and that is how he gets his revelation.  He lives a missionary lifestyle.  Doesn't go watch movies or TVs.    Stays out of the world so he can be more spiritually in tune.  It was pretty cool to ask him questions about what a partriach does.

After that, we came home, planned, went to bed.  Had zone meeting today.  It was pretty good.  We came back around 1 pm, 'cuz we had an appt. with a person named Crystal, she's been a member for awhile.  She is in an insane asylum or something like that.  It reminded me of like the movies with white halls and doors, mentally handicapped people that live in it.  Kind of scary.  We taught her.  Drove around alot looking for part members and potentials and formers.  We didn't find any.  We dropped a couple of dates 'cuz they haven't been there, so it is pretty disappointing 'cuz they're never home.   That white dog hasn't been there since I've had my spray, so I haven't been able to spray that stupid little thing.

We went and ate dinner at the Esparza's.  They aren't members, but their kids are.  Because she has to get her green card before she can be married legally in the US so she can get baptized.  She made homemade tortialls.  They were stinkin' good.  She is the best cook I've seen in awhile, besides you, Mom, you are the best cook ever....the bestest ever.   (I LAUGHED AT THIS!!  AWWWE!!!)

 After that, we went and tried going to other people who weren't home.  Brother Bonham's house for missionary coordination meeting.  Nothing really funny happened today.  Kind of a tougher day today.  Nobody wanted to talk to us.  Nobody really cared....but that's okay. IT is days like these that help us appreciate the good days.  That is it for the three days that I missed.  I hope you like them.  It's not something too exciting, buty Fresno is alot ghettoer than I thought, just humble and ghetto, oh my goodness.  We had this lady that drived by us in a car.  She was high on meth and had no teeth.  She yells at us...."Hey Good lookin'"....no, no...it was more like this, (Cade says this in more of a gruffer voice) "Hey, Good Lookin'"....weird voice...we were like, what the heck?  She was old, nasty, sick, gummy, high on meth lady.  The drugs are so bad in that area.  

This road we were on called Bons, Elder Gipeau said that people say that they see  Spirits walk the street because they say that is where alot of people get shot alot.  That is kinda scary.  Good thing we didn't go at night, we would've had to cast out devils or something with the priesthood that we hold.  But, we've had a couple of good days, except the people we had to drop dates.  We are in the process of right now, finding more dates and investigators.  So, that's it!  Austa la Vista!

03-10-14 - Staying in Sanger - Training

SO the big news is that transfers happen on wednesday and i am staying in sanger, but i will be training!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so we just need to find a lot of investigators we only have one progressing investigators! so me and this new missionary will be working our little buns off to find new people to teach! this week i went on an exchange with elder drapeau in fresno! fresno is super super ghetto!!! holy moly! they have a huge area too! on bikes! so that stinks! we didnt baptize anybody this weekend! i am still gonna be here with elder gayan! so we are staying together!! and mom i just need everybodies email so i can write therm i love being a missionnary!!

02-24 and 03-03 - Chickens and Puppies - Heads and Tails

02-24 - 14

So this week has been a super crazy week! i had to go on 2 exchanges this wek! because i have 5 companionships in my stewardship i have to go on an exchange with everyone of them before the transfer ends! i have the biggest district in the mission! the cool thing is , that the assistants are in my district! elder pinnock and elder castenada! they are both from idaho! actually elder pinnock is from rigby and is in grandma and grandpas ward! i went on an exchange with him and had the best exchange of my mission! i love him so much! and then i went on an exchange with elder wolfe! he is a little eccentric but you go tto love them!!! so, so far we have 6 baptism dates for sanger! we are scheduled to baptize every week in march if it all pans out!!!  other than that, remember that stupid little white dog that mad em crash, we were over in that area again! and elder adnerson wanted to prove to me that is was all bark no bit so he went up to it and as soon as he turned around it bit him hahaha it was so funny, so we were talking to the boyfriend of the owner of the dog, that hates the thing too and it snuck up behind me and bit me dang it! that dog is going to die before i leave sanger! it will just magically disappear one day! other than that we just plain out had a good week full of miracls. for instance we set 2 baptism dates on sunday! it is super cool! there is a book that sister gelwix was telling us about that seems very interesting that i think you might like it is called VISIONS OF GLORY  BY COVE FORT you can get it off amazon!! we are scheduled to baptize next saturday that is going to be good! we went up to squaw valley and cut some chickens haed off i never really knew what would happen if you just take an axe and lopped its head off, so i had to try it! i got a video of it which is pretty hilarious! it goes nuts!!! i trully know the meaning running around like a chicken with its head cut off! i got to pluck the chickens and gut them too! chickens are just nasty animals! i much rather clean an elk out than a chicken!!! anyway that was my week i love all of you!

the people we went and di service for has a yorkie just like little daisy named dutchess! haha its a cute dog! also mother i need some more garments and some shirts they are getting old and dicolored and stained  with my garments for the bottoms i need a size 42 cotton poly briefs!      for the tops i need an extra large tall dry lux   and for the shirts i need an 18.5 tall short sleeve 65 percent cotton and 35 percent polyester    probably just 5 pairs of garments and like 2 or 3 shirts! haha but if not i guess thats ok i just need some! thank you mom!

mom you are the best i love you soo much! and yeah its a video about the chicken! you will laugh i promise! haha the chicken went nuts haha and you just need to send me a new sd card! haha and i know i am in the right place i love my mission it is an amazing experience! i finally wrote chance like grandpa wanted me too! and also you need to look at that book i think you will like it a lot it is about a guy who like dies for a while and sees like his spirit world house and stuff like that! it is super interesting!!!

03-03-14

We had another baptism!!!  we baptized erica!! the stupid little white dog hasnt came out since i boyught ammonia!! it knows that is is going to be in for some fun with elder lundberg!! i bring that thing where ever i go!! it is super nice haha there are some members named the griggs that are soo cool! brother girggs reminds me soo much of jeramy! we went to dinner and he was telling me all of the war stories because he was in the army but he is opnly in his mid 30s! they are soo cool elder anderson and I helped dock their puppies tails! they bought us like brand new trimmers to do it! they were squealing! haha and pooping everywhere! haha it was pretty funny! i had to interview 2 more popel for baptisms for the assistants and the sisters so that is pretty cool! transfers are coming up next week! so we will see what happens! elder anderson and i were wreslting and i smacked my head on my bed frame and it was just gushing blood! haha it hurt only for a second! I went on an exchange with elder gayan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was sooo dang fun! him and i probably have the closest relationship out here! he is really like my big brother! we love each other a lot! i love being a misisonaries! its cool to see gods hand in my life as a missionary and all the miracles!

02-17-14 - Little White Dog

tHIS WEK WE HAD 2 BAPTISMS!!!! THAT IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!  this week  we stinking biked a whole lot!!!  the spanish elders needed the car almost evry single day! so we were at the southern end of my area and this stinking little white dog kept chasing me on my bike! so i was on the grass and i go to kick it and wasnt looking at where i was going and there was a pothole and i ate it bad! it was kinda embarassing!  we have had a lot of success looking through former investogators! we street contact all the time! we have 2 more dates we have set! we set a date for march 29 for segio! the reason why its so far, is because he stinking smokes weed! his house just stinks like weed all the time! haha i guess some girl recorded my rwreck and put it on facebook, so try to find it! haha other than that our baptism went well! that puts me at 18! i am getting close to my goal! I love being a missionary! its super fun! haha sanger is good! elder anderson and i just tell each other hunting stories and he tells me stories about his cows on his ranch and all the crazy things that happenb when he tags xcalves and things like that! i like the stories! he has a lot of funny ones!!!

02-10-14 - Sanger Bangers!!

this week has been good! we have a baptism of a family on saturday there names are erica fatima and beto! so that is super exciting!!!  other than that we went to go see one of our recent converts at like 830!!! her dad answered the door fuming mad!! he opened the door and said"gentlemen do you know what time it is??" and we said that it was 830! then he said yeah it is 830!!!!!!!!! and he is yelling at thius point!  he says ever since my daughter was batpized you people keep calling my phone and knocking on my door! he said i want you gone! dont ever come baqck and he goes to step inside of his house! and i just had to testify of what i know, so i said sir i testify to you that! and we walks back out and slams the door as hard as he could behind him and said what did you say! and then i said i testify that the message we share will bless your life! i was cool as a cucumber! he is up in my face at this point! and he said i told you i want you gone!!!! J-O-N-E! he spelled gone wrong! and i said alright sir you have a goodnight god bless! and i start walking off , then he says f you you fing mormons never quit f you! haha it took my all not to freak out on this old dude! he was a lot smaller than me! he definitely had some skoons to come up to me like that! if he were to touch me tho, we would have gone toes right on his porch!! so that was my funny experience! pther than that we have a baptism on saturday!!!!!! thats super exciting!  but yeah the drug store grandpa knows is called reed drug!! sister bonham went to school with lyel mortimer grandpas brother i think! so that is cool! brother bonhams mom actually owned that drug store! so thats cool! sister bonham looks so much like grandma bonnie, it is crazy! she acts almost identical too! it definitely makes me miss her a lot! i will send you my journal entries from this week!

Pictures of Squaw Valley - He went up here and did some service for members chopping wood.  Then, they fed him a steak dinner afterwards.  Cade, of course, loved that!  He loved the fact that there were mountains there.  He also said that it reminded him of hunting back home.

02-03-14 - Sweet Sanger

So this week has been crazy! a lottle bit about sanger, is it is a lot like magna, it is just isolated from everything else!! the ward is plain amazing! haha there is a walmart, they basically have everything there!!! the car is super nice, but wee have to share it with the sanger spanish elders, so we only get it 4 times a week! which is alright! we have a ton of investigators here! the work is going well! we have 3 dates for february 15 so that is pretty cool! i was so bummed that the broncos lost dang it! it kinda upset me, but it is ok! hah aturns out that my wml is from rigby! his name is reed bonham! he told me to mention lyn jensen to see if that rang a bell! they know grandma and grandpa mortimer! which is pretty sweet! no word on shawn my investigator in modesto! but i will be back to baptize him! other than that elder anderson is from wyoming, he rode saddle broncs! it is pretty sweet to hear all his stories! me and him get a long great!  i bore aq powerful testimony in sacrament meeting! the ward is so friendly! oh real quick ,  our ward mission leaders wife, reminds me soooo much of grandma bonnie! i will have to get a picture of her so you can see the similarities it is crazy! anyways thats pretty much everything that has been going on! i love all of you! oh i want dad to do both!!!

Jan 27, 2014 L-berg, the Fatted Calf - Transfers - CAR!!!

So the big news is, is that i am getting transferred on wednesday!!!!!!! it is definitely bitter sweet! i have grown to love this ward soo much! all the people i have baptized and just the members!!! they will be missed! i am being transferred to sanger, which is like south east of fresno! i have been told that it is a little country town! My new companions name is elder anderson! i heard he is a cowboy from texas! i guess he rides bulls! so thats pretty cool! i am staying district leader down there! i will miss my companions i have now! especially elder bean! i dont think i will ever have a companion like him again! we just clicked from the beginning! but elder bean is taking my place as a district leader, its cool because all of his companionships are visa waiters to brazil! so he can have his district meetings in portuguese!

so here is how my week went down!  we have been biking our little booties off! we have biked to the very southern part of our area like 5 times this last week! because we have potentials down there haha! so we are on the very north part of our area and so it was a  long couple of days! as you probably know, that my birthday was on saturday! i am 19 , i cant believe it!

L-Berg - The Fatted Calf - HA HA HA HA HA

  So on saturday elder bean and elder mcewan got me like a fat little cow, now the story behind that is when i was being trained elder gayan said that i was the fatted calf of the mission, and i guess that has been with me for forever! haha so they got me this fat cow and told me it was the fatted calf! haha we called it L-berg! haha so it was funny! i celebrated my birthday with matthew! i love him soo much! haha matthew made me a cake right out of the penitentiary! he told me that is what they make in jail! so it was a honeybun, with melted peanut butter on it with a broken up and melted candy bar on it and some bananas on top! it was super good! other than that i really didnt do a lot for my birthda!

on sunday, it was my last sunday in the modesto 2nd ward! and it was fast and testimony for them! so i got up and bore a powerful testimony! i made a lot of people cry! i almost cried a little bit haha! i sat down and i saw all these people wiping there eyes! and right after me this 11 year old boy gets up and says, wll now i know that elder lundberg is leaving, i will miss him, he is one of my favorite missionaries! that was sister howells son!

other than that on the bright side, i will have a car in my new area! haha i just want to leave you with a couple versuses that pertain to us now! it is D and C 138:55-56 it is powerful! i love you !
